Nana-Kwame-Adusei_Charlotte-Privee_gfdw2016_seminar-speaker

Meet Nana Kwame Adusei,  founder and creative director behind the upwardly mobile Ghanaian fashion and lifestyle brand Charlotte Prive. Nana Kwame will share knowledge on developing a successful African brand, and why creative and critical thinking is key to sustaining a business growth, successful brand and product design.

Nana Kwame Adusei is the visionary behind Charlotte Prive, a Ghanaian born African fashion house specialising in designing and manufacturing well tailored ready to wear female garments. Nana Kwame, inspired by the women surrounding his childhood years, his three sisters, and the way their clothes spoke for them, founded the growing fashion brand in 2012. However, it wasn’t until hosting a charity event for children’s orphanages that he really discovered design as his calling. Wanting to give back more and more to the less fortunate communities surrounding him, he realized utilizing his creative talent would give him the opportunity to not just give aid, but also inspire the next generation of creative talents.

Charlotte Prive has since grown to be a brand that empowers women through clean-cut and cool style, representing the chic, confident, and hard-working women who wear it. Nana Kwame has followed with opening two successful Charlotte Prive lifestyle destination stores in Accra, catering for his brand and lovers of the brand, extending to a franchise/distributor in South Africa. The progressive brand label is soon to launch Charlotte Prive Man to satisfy demanding interest of men lovers of the brand.

Through his carefully strategist business plan and brand development execution, Nana Kwame continue to prove the logic behind fashion as a viable business in Ghana, that, with the right creative knowledge, business understanding and willingness to innovate as a brand through design and aesthetics, Africans and Ghanaians need not to be bystanders or remain ordinary consumers, but also partakers in the multi-million global fashion industry that drives global economies socially and financially, starting right from where there are on the continent, being it west, east, south or north Africa.

Nana Kwame’s fashion brand, Charlotte Prive joins some of today’s fastest growing contemporary fashion brand labels hailing from Ghana and across the mother continent of Africa.
